Austria – Hochoetz
Hochötz is a sunny plateau and lies at an altitude of 1900 to 2000 m. The gently undulating hills of Hochötz are surrounded by old pine trees. In summer, the alpine rose bloom is particularly pronounced to admire.
From the base station in Ötz (820 m) you either hike as a trained mountain hiker up to the mountain station Hochötz at 2020 m altitude or you can take the mountain railway to the top station and hike from here to various destinations.

One of the possible hiking trails leads to the Alte Bielefelder Hütte, which is a ruin and is no longer farmed. The walking time is about one hour from Bergstaton Hochötz. The ruin lies at an altitude of 2200 m. Another possibility is the descent to the Neue Bielefelder Hütte and the Acherberg-Alm, which can be reached in a steep descent but without particular difficulty in half an hour. From the mountain station Hochötz you have a wonderful view of the northern flank of the Acherkogel. The mountain restaurant of the Hochötz mountain station is modern in design and geared towards mass tourism.
The climb is worthwhile, however, because of the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. From here, many paragliders and paragliders start in the summer and then have their landing field down in the valley near Ötz.
