Cabo Ortegal

On the north coast of Galicia we visit Cape Ortegal. It is located about 12 kilometers southwest of Estaca de Bares. It is the northernmost point of the Spanish mainland. It belongs to the municipality Cariño in the province of A Coruña.

At Cape Ortegal, the Biscay and the Atlantic Ocean meet. It is the northernmost point of the Serra da Capelada and the mountain bar with the highest cliffs in southwestern Europe.

A few kilometers southwest on the Garita de Herbeira, the cliff drops more than 600 meters to the surf-side shore.
