Alberobello Trulli

Trulli are mainly found in the Puglia region of Italy. We found you in Alberobello.

Trulli are round houses with stone roofs. The cantilevered vault tapers towards the top. Most of them have a symbolic keystone on top of the roof, the so-called Zippus. Sometimes these keystones are also formed as spheres or other symbols.

The trulli are built without mortar. The solid natural stones with thick walls and the small windows are perfect against the often strong summer heat.
